La salud mental y la salud física
Con la sátira X del poeta italiano Décimo Junio Juvenal, escrito en el siglo I A.C., que decía en latín: “Orandum est ut sit mens sāna in corpore sānō” traducido al español “Oremos por una mente sana en un cuerpo sano”, en la filosofía de la época, ya se evidenciaba la importancia de la salud mental y su relación con la salud física. La Organización Mundial de la Salud, en la conferencia sanitaria internacional, celebrada el 19 de junio de 1946 en la ciudad de Nueva York, definió la enfermedad como: “La salud es un estado de completo bienestar físico, mental y social, y no solamente la ausencia de afecciones o enfermedades”
El control de la mente sobre el cuerpo
